ስለ ፡ ዊኪመዝሙር (About WikiMezmur)
WikiMezmur was founded in late October 2010, and officially launched in September 2011. At the time, one of our founders was working in a church with the worship team. He was helping them prepare and project the lyrics during worship. It quickly became apparent that many churches were individually hand writing lyrics from songs, and yet there was no centralized way to access them. Furthermore, some of the alternative websites had lyrics in the form of picture files which made it difficult to search by typing the words. These were some of the reasons why we set out to make this free website. We wanted to create a resource and make mezmur lyrics easily accessible to anyone in the world.
Over the past few years, we have grown considerably. We have emphasized on a quality work without infridging on any copyright laws, which is why we do not upload any audio without the singer's permission. We take this seriously because we believe we are serving God, and it is important to remain faithful to Him. Many of our audience have also contributed various contents. We still have a lot of work to do, but the pace is getting quicker and our reach is getting wider. We want all Christians out there to make full use of this website.
To help this project, we ask all users who are copying our content to give credit back to WikiMezmur. We ask this because our volunteers have put in a lot of hours in writing down and proof reading the lyrics. More importantly, we want others to know where to find more lyrics or submit contribute. This is an open public project; the more people know about it, the more likely it will succeed.
Songs that praise the Father, Son and Holy Spirit can be posted on this website for everyone to access. Thus far all content is briefly reviewed prior for approval. We also ask that you do not post links to outside websites unless specifically permitted. To read our statement of faith please click here.
